Who we are

Europe Dispatch is an independent news publication covering European policy, business, society, and public life. We operate at europedispatch.com.

What data we collect

• Newsletter subscribers: your email address, subscription date, and verification status.
• Article views: we count page views per article without storing personal identifiers.
• Push notification subscribers: your browser's push subscription endpoint (a technical string generated by your browser — it contains no personal information).
• Cookie consent: we store your Accept or Decline choice in your browser's local storage.

How we use your data

• Your email is used solely to send the Europe Dispatch briefing newsletter.
• We do not sell, share, or rent your email address to third parties.
• Article view counts are used to surface popular content on the homepage.
• Push subscriptions are used only to notify you of new articles.

Cookies and local storage

We use browser local storage (not cookies) to remember your consent choice and admin session. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies. If you click Decline on the cookie notice, no analytics or tracking will be activated.

Your rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights or to unsubscribe from the newsletter, contact us at privacy@europedispatch.com. You can also unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email.

Data retention

Newsletter subscriber records are kept until you unsubscribe. Push subscriptions are removed when you revoke notification permission in your browser. Aggregate view counts are kept indefinitely as they contain no personal data.

Third-party services

Europe Dispatch is hosted on Cloudflare Pages and uses Cloudflare Workers and D1 for infrastructure. Cloudflare's privacy policy applies to infrastructure-level data. We use Wikimedia Commons for licensed article images. No other third-party analytics or advertising services are used.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Europe Dispatch after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
